The Salento is a land with a tourist vocation without the services to support it, and moving from one municipality to another is as difficult as crossing a border. This is where everything else starts.

Salento DinAmico
The project aims to build a forward-looking, cosmopolitan vision for the region, in order to close the gaps of a sluggish development that is holding back growth in politics, society, culture, energy, industry, agriculture, tourism and institutions.
From Salento, for Italy and for Europe.
How the idea came about
The idea grew over time, out of conversations held on many occasions with friends from different backgrounds. The project answers precise needs that emerged from discussions among people aged 20 to 40: university students, graduates, researchers, teaching assistants, athletes from across Apulia and Erasmus students of the University of Salento, workers, labourers, professionals and entrepreneurs. The project was summarised and written in the first months of 2009.

Chapter 2
Phase 1: Restructuring of the territorial political geography
You don't redesign a territory without knowing it first. This phase brings together those who study it and those who administer it, and rearranges the scattered municipalities into Unions that have a sensible size.

Chapter 3
Phase 2: From small communities to large cities
With the borders rearranged, the separate communities become a single city: you choose where to give birth to the new center, you concentrate in one place what is now scattered, and the areas in between become spaces where people meet.

Chapter 4
Phase 3: Modular Transport
New cities make sense only if you can get there. An internal network holds together each Union, a railway connects the centers, and at that point the provinces are no longer needed.
